Where the brethren gather together to enthrone the King!
Our Mission: to gather people into the manifest presence of God that they might be transformed.
Dig A Well!
As the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness, they came to a time and place where, in the dry desert land, they were thirsty. They were like so many of us, as we make our way through our Christian experience, we have "dry spells". Times when the journey has become so long and hot, and we feel so dry. Numbers 21:16-18 tells of one of these times for the children of Israel.
And from there they continued to Beer, that is the well where the Lord said to Moses, "Assemble the people, that I may give them water." Then Israel sang this song: "Spring up, O well! Sing to it! The well, which the leaders sank, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter and with their staffs."
There are two wonderful truths in this verse. Notice it says that the children of Israel journeyed to a well that they knew about. God directed them to it. Most likely you know where the well of the Lord is in your life. You've been there before. And also that this well had been "sunk" or dug by their leaders sometime before and the leaders had dug this well with the scepter and with their staffs. We see from Genesis 49:10 that the scepter is a symbol of praise. The verse says "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet". The scepter and the ruler's staff are established in Judah which means praise. So the leaders originally dug that well with their praise and you too can dig a well in your life with praise unto God. You can dig down deep into the soil of your heart and bring forth the well spring of the sweet and refreshing presence of the most high God to water the ground of your soul! Praise Him! Praise Him when you’re dry! Praise Him when you're parched. Praise Him when you're weary from the long hot journey!
The second truth is revealed when the children of Israel arrived at this well which their leaders had sunk. It had evidently been awhile since the well had been used and the water was not readily seen or evident. Does it seem as though your well has dried up from neglect or lack of use? Then sing to it! Prophesy to it! Call it forth, as the children of Israel did to this ancient well! They sang this song: "Spring up, O well! Sing to it! The well, which the leaders sank, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter and with their staffs."
They sang out "their faith" in what the Lord had done there before, when the leaders first sank that well. They sang to it to spring up once again and water the thirsty tribes. God inhabits our praise and their song brought forth His sweet presence to water their thirsty souls. He will inhabit your praise too and water your thirsty soul as well. Sing to Him for He is the well within you! Sing to Him, to spring up and water your weary heart!
And, our praise has the power to be prophetic too, to "call those things that be not, as though they were!" They sang to that well for it bring forth the will of God for them. Our praise can call forth the will of God to arise up out of His holy majestic presence which dwells within us, and to COME FORTH and be made manifest! Spring up, O Well! Spring up, our Glorious Lord! Spring up, O vision and faith! Spring up O destiny and hope! SPRING UP!!
There is an old chorus that most of us know:
Spring up O well, within my soul.
Spring up O well, and make me whole.
Spring up O well, and give to me, that life abundantly!
Bring forth your scepter of praise today, dear friends and dig a well in the soil of your life! Sing to your well today to Spring Up, and be refreshed, even in this dry place. Who knows but that He brought you here just to show you that He can cause His river to flow even in the desert place. There is a river of life deep within your soul....sing to it and watch it SPRING UP!
