     Scott grew up in a small town in Southern Ohio just east of Cincinnati, which might remind you of the Andy Griffith Show's Mayberry, due to it's charm and friendly people.  “I was raised in a good Christian church and at the age of 10, gave my life to the Lord at a revival service,” he tells us on his website.  Growing up, he played just about every sport available and worked hard for most everything he personally owned, including his guitar.  Of his mother, he says, “She was an awesome example of how to live a rewarding Christian life since she had to be both mother and father, due to the passing of my dad, Robert, when I was only 4 years old.  Her strength and commitment to the Lord and to her children was incredible.”  Scott says he never questioned God on His decision about his Dad and he said it forced him, his mom and sister, to stick together, as a family. “God replaced any pain with love and joy.”  He and his sister, Beth sang and played instruments in church until they went off to college at Ohio State University.   Playing in various bands and even singing in chorus, he says he  was never satisfied with music until he finally realized that he needed to play and sing music for the Lord.  God let him know that He gave him the musical abilities for His pleasure and purpose.

 

      Scott currently serves as Worship Leader under the pastoral care of Pastor Larry Baker at Prayer & Praise Christian Fellowship in Woodstock, Ga. Like all of us, Scott has grown spiritually through his life’s experiences and has been blessed to be surrounded by good teaching, prayer, and a passion for worship.   From these experiences, many songs have flowed out of his heart, inspired by God during intimate times of worship and prayer.  Some of these songs are included on this CD.  “Through Worship,” he says, “God has revealed so many things to me including how much He loves me,  why he moved us to Georgia, and what His purpose is for my life.  He has taught me that He wants a close personal relationship with me like a father to a son and that I should not keep Him at a distance.  His presence surrounds me daily and He hears every prayer from my heart like it is His highest priority.  He is a loving father that forgives me when I ‘mess up’ and is delighted when I do things right, according to His will and purpose.  He is Awesome!!  I am not a Christian because I am perfect now, I am a Christian because I am NOT perfect and I need a forgiving God to save me from destruction.  We all do!“
