Gary & Jacquie Hopper

Gary and Jacquie Hopper served over twenty years in ministry together unto the Lord Jesus. Originally from Oklahoma City, in 1983 they began by serving on staff in fledgling churches as their founding worship leaders. Along the way, they established a support group in Oklahoma City for worship leaders and musicians called Oklahoma City Levite Care which sponsored the first ever “praise and worship in the streets” type event in America in 1987 called “PRAISE IN THE STREETS”! They ministered extensively all across the southern United States and overseas in worship conferences and tirelessly provided their worship leading and musical skills in support of the body of Christ.

They took their experience in pioneering ministry for the Kingdom and founded a local church in Oklahoma City in 1990 which they pastored for ten years. The highlight of that time was the birthing of a monthly city-wide “night of praise” which they called “FIRE ON THE SOUTHSIDE”. The event continued monthly for over 3 years and they saw scores of people saved and healed in the midst of the glorious manifest presence of the Lord! Vision healed, reading glasses tossed away, lumps disappeared, many saved and delivered! It was amazing and glorious! Also, during that time they regularly hosted the local “Praise The Lord” Program for Oklahoma City’s TBN affiliate and again also provided special music as the station had need of it.

Late in the year 2000 signaled a major change in season for the Hopper’s lives and ministry. As their two daughters grew to maturity and began to launch out into their lives, Gary and Jacquie knew the Lord was changing their direction too.

The first step was a turn to even more emphasis on 21st Century Technology in ministry with the launch in August 2000 of the Internet Radio Station, PRAISE ON FIRE RADIO which is in its 8th year of broadcasting. The station’s reach and ministry continue to grow with each passing month.

Then in 2002, at the Lord’s direction, the ministry re-located to Melbourne, Florida, centrally located on the state’s “Space Coast”! Gary and Jacquie took a sabbatical, placing a membership in and submitting themselves to the ministry of The Master’s Touch International Church in Orlando, Florida under Dr. Mark Chironna. Bishop Chironna, covering bishop of Legacy Alliance, ordained them under his covering for ministry in January of 2004. At that time, Jacquie returned to itinerant ministry with Gary joining her as he was able. Gary took a position as an elementary music teacher in the Brevard County School System in central Florida. For Gary it was a glorious time, as he returned to his deep love of teaching and devotion to children becoming musicians.

Tragically, though, Gary’s joy was to be short-lived as in January of 2005, he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He passed away in April on Palm Sunday, 2006. After much counsel with those in whom Jacquie trusted, she set her heart to carry on the ministry and began traveling full time in June of 2006.

During her travels God led Jacquie to Amarillo, Texas to minister, and while there, she met her destiny partner in Pastor Joe Kirkwood. The two ministers were married in September of 2007.

The ministry of Praise On Fire Radio continues and has relocated to Amarillo. Jacquie co-pastors “Friends & Family Worship Center” there with her new husband, as well as continuing to travel. The emphasis of her pulpit ministry is on teaching God’s people to enter into His presence and to worship Him by a “revelation of His word” — “being doers of the word of God”. Worship which flows out of revelation carries great authenticity in the spirit and enthrones the King of Kings on our praise. The prophetic anointing is strong - the Song of the Lord flows like a river, and you are encouraged to invite Jacquie to your church or event and see what the Lord will do!
